At Dr. David A. Sherris’ plastic surgery practice, specializing in facial cosmetic procedures, we rely on the most advanced surgical techniques to ensure that our patients obtain optimal cosmetic results in the safest and most efficient way possible. When it comes to one of our most popular cosmetic procedures, the brow lift, Dr. Sherris offers his Buffalo patients the endoscopic brow lift. The endoscopic technique allows Dr. Sherris to make alterations to the brow and forehead that give patients a more youthful appearance, while utilizing a technique that is less invasive and results in a shorter recovery period.

The Procedure

For patients who are concerned with signs of aging on the forehead and upper brows between the eyes, a brow lift can soften skin and smooth wrinkles to give a youthful, more refreshed appearance. Using a traditional technique, one long incision would be made across the forehead, behind the hairline, removing excess skin and redraping the remaining skin. However, in most cases, Dr. Sherris and his patients prefer the endoscopic brow lift technique. The endoscopic brow lift allows Dr. Sherris to achieve the same cosmetic results of a traditional brow lift, while using a series of small incisions that are less invasive and heal quickly.

During an endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Sherris will make several small incisions behind the hairline. Through these incisions, an endoscope is inserted. An endoscope is a thin surgical tool with a tiny camera mounted on the end. This camera allows Dr. Sherris to clearly see the muscles and tissues beneath the skin so that these tissues can be repositioned. These alterations lift the brows and permanently soften wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyes. With these alterations complete, the incisions will be closed with sutures and recovery can begin.

Advantages of the Endoscopic Technique

There are many advantages to the endoscopic brow lift, which is why Dr. Sherris and most of his patients prefer it over the traditional brow lift technique. Below are some of the advantages that the endoscopic technique offers our patients:

Overall, a patient undergoing an endoscopic brow lift will benefit from all the cosmetic benefits of a traditional brow lift with the added benefit of a procedure that is less invasive, safer, and easier to recover from.
