What Is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

The most common side effect caused by BOTOX® treatment is mild bruising around the injection site. Bruising may last for up to two weeks. In some cases, cosmetic treatments involving injections can cause mild headaches, but these usually resolve after a day.

Do BOTOX® injections hurt?
No, botulinum toxin injections aren't painful. At most, you'll feel a brief, small pinch at the injection site. Our plastic surgeon has actually authored articles on BOTOX®, so he has working knowledge of injections, which means more skillful and comfortable application.
Is BOTOX® a filler?
No, it is not. BOTOX® is an injectable that uses safe botulium toxin to relax your muscles and prevent wrinkles from appearing on your facial skin. A similar example of this kind of treatment is Xeomin®. Fillers, meanwhile, are used to add volume to your skin. An example would be achieving fuller lips with Restylane®.
What happens if I stop BOTOX®?
It's perfectly safe to stop botulinum toxin treatment. The only change will be that you will no longer see the results of your injections. If you ever want to return for more injections, you're always welcome at our Buffalo office.
